The play pregnats with an young director Trung Kien's full creative confidences and sings the praise patriotsm of the Vietnam people.

The play starts the day Cao Bien is appointed to Annam by the King Duong Ham Thong in order to remove supernatural power of this maverllous land. However, Cao Bien has repeated failures in succession while carrying out the scheme. Then Cao Bien sees and loves Viet Huong, a girl in Annam. A snatch and tear strugle happens and Cao Bien decides to refuse to consider the love in order to finish great work. But the wicked intention of the dynasty Duong is still unsuccessed because of running into stiff resistance of the people in Giao Chi.
